Welcome

Ibiza is part of the Balearic archipelago, which is conformed by five islands off Spain's Eastern Coast, also called the Iberian Peninsula. Ibiza is the third largest island, after Mallorca, which is the largest, and Menorca. The two smaller islands are Formentera and Cabrera. The islands come together to form an Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands of which the capital is the city of Palma de Mallorca. Official languages on the islands are Spanish and Catalan.

Ibiza itself is located 80 kilometres away from Spain and lies on the Mediterranean Sea. This causes the island to have typical Mediterranean weather with hot summers and mild winters, making of the island an ideal tourist destination. The tourist season lasts only during the summer as most of the nightclubs are open from June to September, and the island is largely free of tourists for the rest of the year, though it does not shut down for tourist travel. Ibiza has been designated a World Heritage Site by the United Nations to preserve its many historical and cultural sites and to prevent excessive commercial development that may harm its fragile natural ecosystem.

There are many UK airports that offer flights to Ibiza inluding;

Ibiza, along with its neighbouring island of Formentera are collectively called the Pine Islands. It is interesting to note that even though the Pine Islands are part of the Balearic Islands both politically and geographically with Mallorca and Menorca, Ibiza is actually closer to mainland Spain. Mallorca lies around 100 kilometres away from Ibiza while mainland Spain is 80 kilometres away.
